DeMarcus Ware Announces his Retirement from the NFL

Denver Broncos’ linebacker DeMarcus Ware has announced his retirement from the NFL.

Ware, 34, played in the NFL for 12 seasons for both the Dallas Cowboys and the Broncos. This past season, he played in 10 games and recorded 15 tackles, 4.0 sacks, and 1 pass defensed.

Over his 12-year NFL career, Ware played in 178 games and has recorded 656 tackles, 138.5 sacks, 35 forced fumbles, 8 fumble recoveries, 3 interceptions, 1 defensive touchdown, 26 passes defended, and 64 stuffs.

Ware’s career highs in an NFL season are 16 games played (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 with the Cowboys and 2014 with the Broncos), 84 tackles (2007 and 2008 with the Cowboys), 20 sacks (2008 with the Cowboys), 6 forced fumbles (2008 with the Cowboys), 2 fumble recoveries (2010 with the Cowboys), 1 interception (2006 and 2013 with the Cowboys and 2014 with the Broncos), 1 defensive touchdown (2006 with the Cowboys), 6 passes defended (2006 and 2009 with the Cowboys), and 9 stuffs (2005, 2008, and 2010 with the Cowboys).
