Steelers, Brown Reach Contract Extension Agreement

The Pittsburgh Steelers and wide receiver Antonio Brown have reached a 4-year, $68 million contract extension agreement, making Brown the highest paid wide receiver in the NFL.

Brown, 28, has played in the NFL for 7 seasons, all with the Steelers. He is coming off of a season in 2016 in which he played in 15 games and caught 106 passes for 1,284 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns. He also ran the ball 3 times for 9 rushing yards, returned 1 kickoff for 23 kickoff return yards, and returned 15 punts for 140 punt return yards.

Over his 7-year NFL career, Brown has played in 101 games and caught 632 passes for 8,377 receiving yards and 50 receiving touchdowns. He has also run the ball 31 times for 119 rushing yards, returned 47 kickoffs for 1,173 kickoff return yards and 1 kickoff return touchdowns, and returned 175 punts for 1,698 punt returns yards and 4 punt return touchdowns.

Brown’s career-highs for a single NFL season are 16 games played (2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015), 136 receptions (2015), 1,834 receiving yards (2015), 16.1 average receiving yards per reception (2011), 13 receiving touchdowns (2014), 7 rush attempts (2011, 2012, and 2013), 41 rushing yards (2011), 9.3 average rushing yards per rush attempt (2015), 27 kickoff returns (2011), 737 kickoff return yards (2011),  27.3 average kickoff return yards per kickoff return (2011), 1 kickoff return touchdown (2010), 32 punt returns (2013), 409 punt return yards (2013), 12.8 average punt return yards per punt return (2013), and 1 punt return touchdown (2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015).
