Baker Mayfield Arrested

Oklahoma Sooners’ junior quarterback Baker Mayfield was arrested early Saturday morning in Arkansas and charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and fleeing.

Mayfield, 21, has played in the NCAA for 3 seasons. He is coming off of a season in 2016 in which he played in 13 games and completed 254 of his 358 pass attempts (70.9% completion rate) for 3,965 yards and 40 passing touchdowns with 8 interceptions. He also ran for 177 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns on 78 rush attempts.

Mayfield spent the 2013-2014 season playing for the Texas Tech Red Raiders before transferring to Oklahoma, sitting out the 2014-2015 season, and being Oklahoma’s starting quarterback for the past two seasons.

Over his 3-year NCAA career, Mayfield has played in 34 games and completed 741 of his 1,093 passes (67.8% completion rate) for 9,980 passing yards and 88 passing touchdowns with 24 interceptions. He has also run for 772 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns on 307 rush attempts.

Mayfield’s career-highs in a single NCAA season are 13 games played (2015 and 2016), 269 completions (2015), 70.9% completion percentage (2016), 3,965 passing yards (2016), 40 passing touchdowns (2016), 141 rush attempts (2015), 405 rushing yards (2015), 2.9 average rushing yards per carry (2015), and 7 rushing touchdowns (2015).
