Hornets Waive Chris Andersen

The Charlotte Hornets have waived power forward Chris Andersen nearly immediately after acquiring him from the Cleveland Cavaliers, who also traded cash to the Hornets in exchange for a potential second round NBA Draft pick.

Andersen, 38, has been in the NBA for 15 seasons and has played for 5 different teams. He is coming off of a season in which he played in 27 games and averaged 14.9 minutes per game, 3.9 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game, 0.4 assists per game, 0.5 blocks per game, and 0.6 steals per game. He shot 52.8% from the field, 28.6% from 3-point range, and 69.4% from the free throw line.
