Mason suffered a fractured skull as well as internal brain bleeding, had to be carried off an a stretcher, and was administered oxygen.

Cahill gave his condolences to Mason, and afterwards said this: “We smashed heads, there was a massive impact and I know he went off. I wish him all the best.”

The former Tottenham star was on the field for a lengthy nine minutes before eventually being carried off, with a brace around his neck.
