Chris Paul To Miss 6-8 Weeks with Torn Ligament in Left Thumb

Los Angeles Clippers’ point guard Chris Paul is set to undergo thumb surgery and will likely miss between the next 6 to 8 weeks of NBA action.

Paul, 31, has been in the NBA for 12 seasons and has played for 2 different teams. He is coming off of a season in which he played in 74 games and averaged 32.7 minutes per game, 19.5 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, 10.0 assists per game, 0.2 blocks per game, and 2.1 steals per game. He shot 46.2% from the field, 37.1% from 3-point range, and 89.6% from the free throw line.

So far this season, Paul has played in 36 games and averaged 30.9 minutes per game, 17.4 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, 9.7 assists per game, 0.1 blocks per game, and 2.3 steals per game. He is shooting 47.1% from the field, 39.5% from 3-point range, and 87.6% from the free throw line.

Over his 12-year NBA career, Paul has played in 809 games and averaged 35.6 minutes per game, 18.7 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, 9.9 assists per game, 0.1 blocks per game, and 2.3 steals per game. His career shooting percentages are 47.3% from the field, 36.7% from 3-point range, and 86.5% from the free throw line.
