Just a week after signing him to a 2-year contract extension, the Los Angeles Rams have decided to fire head coach Jeff Fisher following a disappointing 4-9 start to their first season back in Los Angeles.
In 22 seasons as an NFL head coach, Fisher has a 173-165-1 record. He has coached for the Houston Oilers, the Tennessee Titans (same as the Houston Oilers), the St. Louis Rams, and the Los Angeles Rams (same as the St. Louis Rams). His 165th loss, which came yesterday when the Atlanta Falcons throttled the Rams by a score of 42-14, tied the all-time record for most losses by an NFL coach.
Since becoming the head coach of the Rams in the 2012 season, Fisher’s best season with the team was the 2012 season, when they went 7-8-1. He never once led the team to the postseason, and with his 31-45-1 record as their head coach, that is no surprise.
