Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Rick Porcello has won this past season’s American League Comeback Player of the Year award.
Porcello, 27, had a 22-4 record this past season. He posted a 3.15 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP with 189 strikeouts and won this season’s American League Cy Young award as well.
In the 2015 season, Porcello had a 9-15 record. He posted a 4.92 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP with 149 strikeouts, so for him to come back this season and accomplish what he accomplished earned him the honor of being this season’s American League Comeback Player of the Year.
