The United States has officially parted ways with 5-year coach Jurgen Klinsmann. This news comes amid much speculation over the German coach’s future, following his embarrassing defeat to Costa Rica, losing by a score of 4-0.
While this news is not much of a shock to most fans, a lot of us would not of seen this coming back in 2014, judging by his remarkable World Cup run, leading the team to the knockout stage, before falling to Belgium in extra time.
Now it is looking like the US could not see a World Cup run at all, and that will leave a big hole for the next manager to dig themselves out of in the qualifying groups.
The next manager is rumored to be Bruce Arena, the former coach of the national team who led them to the World Cup Quarterfinals in 2002 and another qualification in 2006.
