The Texas Rangers and former Chicago Cubs’, San Diego Padres’, and Miami Marlins’ starting pitcher Andrew Cashner have reached a 1-year, $10 million contract agreement.
Cashner, 30, had a 5-11 record this season with the Padres and the Marlins. He had a 5.25 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP with 112 strikeouts. Over his entire 7-year MLB career, Cashner has a 31-53 record. He has a 3.89 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP with 608 strikeouts in his career.
Cashner’s career highs for a single MLB season are 10 wins (2013 with the Padres), a 2.55 ERA (2014 with the Padres; 1.69 ERA in 2011 with the Cubs does not qualify), a 1.13 WHIP (2013 and 2014 with the Padres; 0.66 WHIP in 2011 with the Cubs does not qualify), and 165 strikeouts (2015 with the Padres).
