Los Angeles Angels’ center fielder Mike Trout has won the 2016 American League Most Valuable Player award.
Trout, 25, was voted the winner of the award over Boston Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts and Houston Astros’ second baseman Jose Altuve, the other two finalists for the award.
Trout had a .315 batting average, 123 runs scored, 29 home runs, 100 runs batted in, and 30 stolen bases this past season en route to winning this season’s American League Most Valuable Player award.
Trout won 19 of the 30 first place votes to win this award. Betts finished 2nd in the voting, while Altuve finished 3rd.
