Los Angeles Dodgers’ shortstop Corey Seager has won the 2016 National League Rookie of the Year award.
Seager, 22, was voted the winner of the award over Washington Nationals’ center fielder Trea Turner and Los Angeles’ Dodgers starting pitcher Kenta Maeda, the other two finalists for the award.
Seager had a .308 batting average, 105 runs scored, 26 home runs, 72 runs batted in, and 3 stolen bases this past season en route to winning this season’s National League Rookie of the Year award.
Seager won the award unanimously, earning all 30 first place votes. Turner finished 2nd in the voting, while Maeda finished 3rd.
