Conor Daly, 24, will likely be the replacement of Jack Hawksworth’s old #41 car, which will now be powered by Chevrolet instead of Honda like it has been, for AJ Foyt Enterprises for this upcoming Verizon IndyCar Series season. Hawksworth will likely no longer drive for AJ Foyt Enterprises after his only two seasons with the team did not lead to great results.
Daly was a rookie in the Verizon IndyCar Series this past season despite making a combined six starts in the 2013 and 2015 seasons. He finished in 18th in the final championship standings in the 2016 season after finishing 11 of the 16 series races, and he finished in a career high 2nd place at Belle Isle this past season as well. Unfortunately for Daly, he crashed in the Indianapolis 500 en route to a 29th place finish. His career best finish at the Indianapolis 500 remains his 22nd place effort in 2013.
Daly really made some strides last season in the IndyCar Series to prove that he belongs in the series and that he can be a contender in years to come, which you can read a lot more about HERE, so Daly landing himself another full-time ride was the best possible outcome for him this offseason.
