Now that all of the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series races are in the books, here are the grades for each of the 20 full-time drivers this season.

Note: The car numbers, engine/aero kit manufactures, countries, and cars are all provided for each driver.

20) 41-red-t honda-logo-icon Jack Hawskworth united-kingdom : F.

Hawksworth had problems race after race, which prevented him from establishing a consistent rhythm. His highest result of the season was an 11th place finish, which he got at St. Petersburg and Road America

19) 8-white-t chevrolet-logo-icon Max Chilton united-kingdom : D-.

8-gallagher
Chilton started the year out showing some potential with a 7th place finish at Phoenix, but he was rarely mentioned since aside of when he crashed throughout the year. He is consistently ran towards the back of the field and only notched 2 top 10 finishes all season long.

18) 27-blue-t honda-logo-icon Marco Andretti usa : D-.

27-snapple
For an 11-year series veteran, a top finish of 8th place in 16 races with just 3 top 10 finished is not something to be proud of. Andretti may have been the most disappointing driver of this season, but he does not get an “F” by virtue of finishing the season on a “high” note: a season-best 8th place finish at Sonoma. That, and the fact that he finished every race this season, and was the only driver to do so, keeps him from getting an “F”.

17) 14-red-t honda-logo-icon Takuma Sato japan : C-.

Sato could be a contender for the win at pretty much any track, but he never seemed to find the consistency and the speed when he needed it the most this season. The highlight of his season was probably the fact that he only failed to finish 3 races, his best consistency effort since failing to finish just 2 races during the 2011 season.
