It’s only week three in the NFL, and the Cleveland Browns are already on their 3rd starting quarterback.
The Cleveland Browns are on their 5th starting quarterback in the last 5 games, which will be their 26th since launching the franchise in 1999. Rookie Cody Kessler from USC will start in place of the injured Josh McCown, who hurt his shoulder, who had replaced the injured Robert Griffin III, who had also hurt his shoulder. The Cleveland Browns will be heading to Miami to square off against the Dolphins.
“You’d love to have that luxury (of a veteran), but sometimes you’re not afforded that,” Browns head coach Hue Jackson told reporters Monday.
The New England Patriots also are on their last-resort quarterback, rookie Jacoby Brissett, who will start Thursday in place of the injured Jimmy Garoppolo, who injured his shoulder. The Patriots will face off against the Houston Texans. Lucky enough for the Patriots, this is the second to last game before starting QB Tom Brady returns in week 5 against the Browns.
