Sebastien Bourdais, 37, who currently drives in the Verizon IndyCar Series for KVSH Racing in a Chevrolet-powered car, is headed to Dale Coyne Racing for the 2017 season.
Bourdais is a 4-time Champ Car Series Champion (2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 seasons) and is a 35-time race winner in American open wheel racing, including 31 victories in his 73 Champ Car races over 5 seasons and 4 victories in his 88 IndyCar races over 7 seasons.
Dale Coyne Racing currently owns the #18 and #19 cars in the series full-time. The #18 car is driven by rookie Conor Daly and the #19 car has been driven by multiple drivers throughout the season. Honda is the engine and aero kit manufacturer of Dale Coyne Racing’s cars.
Bourdais drove for Dale Coyne in 2011 when he made a return to the IndyCar Series for the first time since his 12th place finish at the 2005 Indianapolis 500 when he drove for Newman/Haas Racing. He has also driven for Lotus-Dragon Racing, Dragon Racing, and KV Racing Technology throughout his IndyCar career.
