Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon, who drives a Chevrolet-powered car, topped the speed charts in the qualifying session for this weekend’s Verizon IndyCar Series race, the IndyCar Grand Prix at the Glen, around the 11-turn 3.40-mile natural terrain road course in Watkins Glen, New York with a fastest lap time of 82.5259 seconds to secure the pole position for tomorrow’s race.
Will Power, Sebastien Bourdais, Helio Castroneves, and Tony Kanaan will round out the top 5 spots on tomorrow’s starting grid. Each of those top 5 drivers drive Chevrolet-powered cars. Drivers of the Chevrolet-powered cars took the top 8 spots on the speed charts in this qualifying session and will start in the top 8 spots for tomorrow’s race. The lone practice session after qualifications will take place tomorrow, Sunday, September 4th, at 10:30 AM ET. The race itself will be held tomorrow, Sunday, September 4th, at 2:37 PM ET and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network starting at 2:00 PM ET.
