Running back Stevan Ridley signed with the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday to a 1-year, veteran deal. He was called for a workout on Friday before being signed by them.
Ridley was drafted in 2011 by the New England Patriots. His best performance was in 2012 when he rushed 290 times for 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns. After that, he saw his performance decline because of fumbling and injury issues. In 2015 he signed with the New York Jets but only played 8 games because of an injury. And as a result, he was released after a year with the Jets. During free agency, Ridley signed a 1-year deal with the Lions but later was released by the team.
Running back Frank Gore will be the starter for the Colts, but there is still competition for Ridley in order to make the 53-man roster. He would have to prove to the team that he still has the ability to play his position despite his injuries.
