After a concussion he suffered in June, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is still undergoing treatment. He will not be racing for another two weeks at least. Rick Hendrick, the team owner, says that Earnhardt wants to get back and is “following what the doctors are saying, to a letter, and doing exactly what he needs to do”, according to ESPN. Earnhardt’s biggest personal problem? His gaze stability, which is the ability to focus on distant objects while moving his head and not feeling nauseous or unbalanced.
Doctors say that they believe Earnhardt suffered the concussion in Michigan on June 12, but he didn’t feel effects until around four weeks later.
