Chargers Pull Back Bosa’s Offer

The San Diego Chargers announced on August 24 that they are pulling their offer to Joey Bosa after he declined the team’s “best offer”.

A Chargers statement says they presented the defensive end with an offer that included an initial signing bonus larger than any rookie in the past two NFL drafts, more money for 2016 than any other rookie in his class (with the exception of Carson Wentz from the Philadelphia Eagles), and the “largest payment and the highest percentage of signing bonus received in the first calendar” of a Chargers first-round pick since 2011, when the NFL adopted the collective bargaining agreement.

According to a statement by Bosa’s lawyers, they are going to “continue to fight for a fair contract on behalf of our client, as we do for all of our clients”.

It’s going to be interesting to see where this goes.
