Power Tops 2nd Mid-Ohio Practice; 19-Year-Old Enerson Turns Heads

Team Penske’s Will Power, who drives a Chevrolet-powered car, topped the speed charts in the second practice session for this weekend’s Verizon IndyCar Series race, the Honda Indy 200, around the 13-turn 2.258-mile natural terrain Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio for with a fastest lap time of 64.1962 seconds.

Tony Kanaan, Simon Pagenaud, Graham Rahal, and Josef Newgarden rounded out the top 5 fastest drivers in this practice session. Each of those top 5 drivers except for Rahal, who drives a Honda-powered car, drives a Chevrolet-powered car. Drivers of the Chevrolet-powered cars took the top 3 and 5 of the top 6 spots on the speed charts in this second practice session. Rookie RC Enerson, who is making his IndyCar debut this weekend, was 7th fastest overall in a Honda-powered car. You can see full practice results at Indycar.com.

There will be one more practice session before qualifications, which will be tomorrow at 9:45 AM ET. Qualifications for the race will take place tomorrow, Saturday, July 30th, at 2:00 PM ET and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network. The race itself will be held on Sunday, July 31st at 2:45 PM ET and will be broadcast on CNBC starting at 2:00 PM ET.
