Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon, who drives a Chevrolet-powered car, topped the speed charts in the first practice session for this weekend’s Verizon IndyCar Series race, the Honda Indy 200, around the 13-turn 2.258-mile natural terrain Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio for with a fastest lap time of 64.4491 seconds.
Will Power, Juan Pablo Montoya, Tony Kanaan, and Helio Castroneves rounded out the top 5 fastest drivers in this practice session. Each of those top 5 drivers drives a Chevrolet-powered car. There will be 2 more practice session before qualifications: one today at 2:00 PM ET, which will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network, and one tomorrow at 9:45 AM ET. Qualifications for the race will take place tomorrow, Saturday, July 30th, at 2:00 PM ET and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network. The race itself will be held on Sunday, July 31st at 2:45 PM ET and will be broadcast on CNBC starting at 2:00 PM ET.
