Jets, Fitzpatrick Agree on 1-Year Deal

The New York Jets and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick have agreed on a fully guaranteed 1-year, $12 million contract. Fitzpatrick, 33, has played in the NFL for 10 seasons for the St. Louis Rams, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Buffalo Bills, the Tennessee Titans, the Houston Texans, and the Jets. He is coming off of a season in 2015 in which he played in 16 games and completed 335 of his 562 pass attempts (59.6% completion rate) for 3,905 yards and 31 touchdowns with 15 interceptions.

Over his 10-year NFL career, Fitzpatrick has played in 112 games and completed 2,087 of his 3,473 passes (60.1% completion rate) for 23,178 yards and 154 touchdowns with 116  interceptions. He has spent 2 seasons playing for the Rams, 1 season playing for the Bengals, 4 seasons playing for the Bills, 1 season playing for the Titans, 1 season playing for the Texans, and 1 season playing for the Jets.

Fitzpatrick’s career-highs for a single NFL season are 16 games played (2011 and 2012 with the Bills and 2015 with the Jets), 353 completions (2011 with the Bills), 63.1% completion rate (2014 with the Texans), 3,905 passing yards (2015 with the Jets), and 31 passing touchdowns (2015 with the Jets).
