Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud, who drives a Chevrolet-powered car, topped the speed charts in the second practice session for this weekend’s Verizon IndyCar Series race around the 11-turn 1.786-mile temporary street circuit around Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario in Canada for the Honda Indy Toronto with a fastest lap time of 61.708 seconds.
Helio Castroneves, Will Power, Scott Dixon, and James Hinchcliffe rounded out the top 5 fastest drivers in this practice session. Each of the top 4 drivers drives a Chevrolet-powered car, while Hinchcliffe drives a Honda-powered car. Drivers of the Chevrolet-powered cars took the top 4 and 6 of the top 7 spots on the speed charts in this second practice session, while the drivers of the Honda-powered cars took 9 of the top 15 spots. Qualifications for the race will take place tomorrow, Saturday, July 16th, at 1:30 PM ET and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network. The race itself will be held on Sunday, July 17th at 3:37 PM ET and will be broadcast on CNBC starting at 3:00 PM ET.
