KV Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais, who drives a Chevrolet-powered car, topped the speed charts in the first practice session for this weekend’s Verizon IndyCar Series race around the 11-turn 1.786-mile temporary street circuit around Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario in Canada for the Honda Indy Toronto with a fastest lap time of 62.909 seconds.
Scott Dixon, Simon Pagenaud, Takuma Sato, and Graham Rahal rounded out the top 5 fastest drivers in this practice session. Each of the top 3 drivers drives a Chevrolet-powered car, while Sato and Rahal drive Honda-powered cars. Drivers of the Chevrolet-powered cars took the top 3, 5 of the top 7, and 6 of the top 9 spots on the speed charts in this first practice session. You can see full practice results at Indycar.com.
Qualifications for the race will take place tomorrow, Saturday, July 16th, at 1:30 PM ET and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network. The race itself will be held on Sunday, July 17th at 3:37 PM ET and will be broadcast on CNBC starting at 3:00 PM ET.
