Trailblazers, Leonard Reach Contract Extension Agreement

The Portland Trailblazers and power forward Meyers Leonard have agreed to a 4-year, $41 million contract extension.

Leonard, 24, has been in the NBA for 4 seasons, all with the Trailblazers. He is coming off of a season in which he played in 61 games and averaged 21.9 minutes per game, 8.4 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game, 1.5 assists per game, 0.3 blocks per game, and 0.1 steals per game. He shot 44.8% from the field, 37.7% from 3-point range, and 76.1% from the free throw line.

Over his 4-year NBA career, Leonard has played in 225 games and averaged 16.6 minutes per game, 5.8 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game, 0.8 assists per game, 0.3 blocks per game, and 0.2 steals per game. His career shooting percentages are 48.9% from the field, 38.5% from 3-point range, and 81.4% from the free throw line.
